OLA Championship 2008

The Own Label Awards Championship 2008 was judged over two rounds, the first to judge all products in all categories. This includes wines, fortified wines, beers and spirits. Companies were allowed to submit as many products as they wished provided that they were either own label or exclusive to the company. The judges were of at least ten years experience and a minimum of Diploma level knowledge. The final round was judged by a select number of the world’s most famous commentators after round one had reduced the field to those products deemed worthy of consideration for category trophy winner, then overall best red wine and also overall best white wine. There was no restriction either to the number of products reaching the final or indeed for any specific category to have any finalists at all.

The last day of the Championship was filmed and highlights are viewable online in on the Video Page. This will display transparently how the Championship was judged. Awards were given to the overall best white wine and the overall best red wine, and 31 category trophy winners.
